Der mittlerweile in Berlin lebende Tomas Nochteff stammt aus Buenos
Aires und ist seit den neunziger Jahren in musikalischer Form extrem
untriebig. Tomas Nochteff was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. From the 90´s he was playing bass, tapes and other instruments in several bands from Buenos
Aires looking for the perfect sound of redemption throught total
inmersion in the wonders and lowdowns of the city's landscape. Bands like Dios,
Travesti, Tom Tom Lamas, Mueran Humanos and others.
Now he is living and working in Berlin when he plays along with artist Carmen Burguess on Mueran Humanos, their main project. Pascua Pagana (Pagan Easter) is an album of solo bass and tapes composed and recorded in London in three days in Easter 2006 Conceptual: It was inspired by the Easter and the old myths around it, from Ishtar to now Psicogeographic: Inspired also by Herne Hill, the neighbourhood in London when it was recorded and the old legend of Herne the Rider Numerologic: recorded in 3 days, in 3 channels, whith a bass with 3 strings, 3 pedals and 3 tapes. It´s an exploration of the possibilities of electric bass, everything you hear is coming out from the bass, even the tapes were playing through the bass microphones. |
